The agricultural and forestry economics and management postdoctoral research station was established in 2023, relying on the first-level discipline of agricultural and forestry economics and management. This discipline is the first-class discipline in Zhejiang Province (Class A) and a key discipline of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration. It has a first-level doctoral degree in agricultural and forestry economic management, a first-level master degree in agricultural and forestry economic management and a professional master degree in agricultural management. The discipline was ranked 10th in the 2024 Soft Science China Best Discipline Ranking.

The discipline relies on ten provincial and ministerial platforms, such as the Ecological Civilization Research Institute and the Zhejiang Provincial Rural Revitalization Research Institute. The discipline has a strong faculty and a reasonable faculty structure. At present, there are fifty teachers, including two leading talents in philosophy and social sciences under the National "10,000 Talents Plan", three selected in the "New Century Outstanding Talents Support Plan" of the Ministry of Education, one provincial special expert, fourteen provincial-level talents, and one member of the Agricultural Economy and Education Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Education. Focusing on the major national strategies of rural revitalization and ecological civilization, the discipline has formed three characteristic directions, namely forestry economic management, agricultural economic management, and resource and environmental economy. The research fields of natural resource property rights system, forest carbon sink economic policy, and non-wood forest product development rank the leading level in the country. In the past five years, it has approved 33 national projects such as major projects of the National Social Science Fund or major projects of the Ministry of Education and 123 provincial and ministerial projects. It won fourteen provincial and ministerial scientific research awards, including three first prizes of philosophy and social sciences of Zhejiang Province and seven second prizes of provincial and ministerial level, and obtained 74 provincial and ministerial level above leadership instructions, including two national level ones.
