The crop science postdoctoral research mobile station was established in 2023 and relies on the crop science discipline. Crop science is the first-class discipline in Zhejiang Province (Class A) and one of the advantageous disciplines in the key construction of our university. The discipline has four research directions including crop germplasm innovation and breeding utilization, crop cultivation physiology and quality control, crop seed science and engineering, and crop green production and comprehensive utilization. It has distinct characteristics in the breeding, efficient cultivation and intensive processing of new crop varieties with high oleic acid/herbicide resistance, fresh corn, functional rice, special purpose sweet potato, etc.

The discipline has strong teaching faculty and academic force, among whom there are one full-time academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, two national talents, seven provincial and ministerial talents. There are eight provincial and ministerial innovation platforms such as "Zhejiang Key Laboratory of Agricultural Product Quality Improvement Technology Research" and "Collaborative Innovation Center of Efficient Green Production of Mountainous Agriculture", and a number of national projects represented by the "13th Five-Year" national key research and development plan, national major transgenic special projects and national natural science foundation. In the past five years, it has gained five provincial and ministerial level and above teaching achievement awards, nine scientific research achievement awards, including a first prize of national teaching achievement award in 2023. Many research achievements have been transformed and applied, and have produced good social and economic benefits, contributing to the development of modern agriculture in Zhejiang and even the region.
