The forestry engineering postdoctoral research mobile station was established in 2023. The mobile station relies on 11 national and provincial research platforms such as the National Engineering Technology Research Center for Comprehensive Utilization of Wood Resources, the Provincial Key Laboratory of Wood Science and Technology, the Provincial Key Laboratory of Chemical Utilization of Forestry Biomass, the Provincial 2011 Collaborative Innovation Center of Bamboo Resources and Efficient Utilization and Provincial Key Support Modern Industry College, etc. It relies on forestry engineering discipline, and supported by chemistry and materials science and engineering disciplines. Forestry engineering discipline was founded in 1958 which is the first-class discipline (Class A) in Zhejiang Province and the most important discipline in Zhejiang Province and with doctoral and master's degree authorization points. The postdoctoral research mobile station recruits postdoctors with the secondary discipline background such as Wood Science and Technology (082902), Chemical Processing Engineering of Forest Products (082903), Forestry Equipment and Information Technology, Furniture Design and Engineering.

After long-term development, the forestry engineering discipline has formed bamboo and wood processing as its characteristic and wood industry clusters as its advantage. Its research fields are focusing on wood and bamboo biomimetic and modification, wood and bamboo science and green processing technology, forest source functional component excavation and fine chemical industry, forest source biomass chemical processing engineering, biomass-based composite material engineering, biomass-based advanced functional materials, intelligent extraction and separation of natural products, new environmental protection adhesives etc. It has formed an interdisciplinary, multi-field cross-integration and coordinated development of the advantageous subject group, which has improved the research level in the field of materials science, especially in the field of biomaterials science and technology. There are nearly thirty doctoral supervisors, three national special talents, national talents five man-time, two provincial key innovation teams and one provincial high-level innovation team. It presided and won the Second Prize of National Technological Invention and the Second Prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress, the Second Prize of Technological Invention of Ministry of Education, the First Prize of Zhejiang Science and Technology Award, and 36 other provincial and ministerial science and technology awards. The research direction of the discipline is stable and the accumulation is profound, which can provide necessary support for the research work of postdoctoral researchers.
